Dear Parishioners of St. Luke,
We have a potential buyer for our Hall Rd. Campus and the Archdiocese has entered into a contract with them. Like all real estate transactions, this deal can either happen or fall through. It is in God’s hands so we will trust that whatever happens, it will be the best outcome for us and His church.
In the interim, we are looking at where we would go to hold our larger Masses and other liturgical services. It is our hope to find a building for worship and storage. We have formed a small committee consisting of parishioners, who have been advising us on different options for our parish. Our most promising option seems to be renting the external gym at the old Thompson Intermediate School. This would be full circle for us, as our parish started out using this school prior to our campus being built.
Should we have to move out of the Hall Rd. Campus prior to the completion of our new building, we have the following plans:
- The entire Parish Staff will move into the Cenacle.
- Daily Masses will take place in the ACTS Suite at the Cenacle (at our Riverstone Ranch Campus) and all other larger Masses will take place at the secondary temporary worship space (wherever that ends up being).
- All meetings and events that take place at both campuses will be reviewed. We are asking for ALL our ministries, organizations and groups to start thinking about different meeting spaces (off campus) and to evaluate how often they are gathering. We will try to make as many accommodations as we can, but it will be difficult because our space will be VERY limited and our Faith Formation and Sacramental classes will take precedence over all other meetings.
- All of the ministries/groups/organizations, including parish staff, are being asked to consider the items that are currently being stored at both of our campuses and clean up days have been scheduled to ensure that we purge all items that we have been hanging on to unnecessarily. Some ministries and organizations have already secured off campus storage for their items, which we greatly appreciate their initiative.
Although we would have a lot to deal with, should we have to move out prior to the completion of our new building, the sale of this campus would help us considerably reduce the amount of the loan needed from the Archdiocese.
Regarding our Capital Campaign, out of the 1240 registered households, only 584 people have donated to the campaign. We are moving from a 5-acre campus on Hall Rd. to one that is 20 acres in Riverstone Ranch. Our current campus has served us well for almost 50 years and it is certainly showing its age. Even the Cenacle building, which we built back in 2014, is showing signs of aging. Trying to maintain two separate campuses is financially draining to the parish. We want to be good stewards of the gifts we have, so we need to move forward and not hang on to our past.
Hebrews 10:39 says, “We are not among those who draw back and perish, but among those who have faith and will possess life.” Leaving one’s family home is never easy, as there are so many memories. Prior to June 17, 1975, there was no building for St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. People came together to give us the spiritual home that we have now. It is time for us to pay that same gift forward for generations to come. We might leave behind the buildings, but we are taking the most important part that is St. Luke with us, and that is its people.
Our next step is to work with the architects to get updated floor plans of our new Family Life Center, as we had to make some necessary changes to the building. Once completed, we will share these plans with everyone by hosting meetings so all may come to view the plans and ask questions. We will also send out this information on all our communication platforms.

Tenemos un comprador potencial para nuestro Hall Rd. Campus y la Arquidiócesis han celebrado un contrato con ellos. - A todos los ministerios/grupos/organizaciones, incluyendo al personal de la parroquia, se les está pidiendo que consideren los artículos que actualmente están siendo almacenados en ambos campus y los días de limpieza han sido programados para asegurar que purguemos todos los artículos a los que hemos estado aferrados innecesariamente. Algunos ministerios y organizaciones ya han asegurado el almacenamiento fuera del campus para sus artículos, lo que apreciamos mucho su iniciativa.
Aunque tendríamos mucho que lidiar, si tuviéramos que mudarnos antes de la finalización de nuestro nuevo edificio, la venta de este campus nos ayudaría a reducir considerablemente la cantidad del préstamo necesario de la Arquidiócesis.
En cuanto a nuestra Campaña Capital, de los 1240 hogares registrados, solo 584 personas han donado a la campaña.
