As a pet ministry, our goal is to provide guidance and support during the most difficult and sorrowful time of having to say farewell to our beloved pets and having to adjust to life without them. The platform of our mission consists of, yet not limited to:
Assisting with the emotional struggle that comes with the decision to set a pet free by preparing pet owners and their pet for the journey that lies ahead by offering suggestions, recommendations, and options with the euthanasia and the after care process.
Providing a safe, loving, and prayerful environment for all to share the loss of their beloved family member by providing means of comfort (prayers, conversations, keepsakes, friends, family, etc.) to lighten the load during their time of grief.
Something To Keep In Mind We
NEVER put our pets down. They are set free and will greet us at a later time when we meet again. Remember pet owners, this is always about our pet. We need to remind ourselves that God has entrusted us with these beautiful and loving creatures. As a result, they are relying on us to make the humane and final decision that they cannot make on their own. Therefore, as difficult as it may be, it becomes an honor to set them free. A time for us to be completely SELFLESS. Never let your pet suffer. Old age is not a disease, so we must be mindful when our pet transitions from living to simply existing.
Some Recommendations
Consider having your pet blessed by our priest prior to being set free (if time allows). If time doesn’t allow, always keep Holy Water on hand (this should always be considered a household staple) so you can bless your pet as you say farewell (never good-bye).
Remember, to speak to your pet everyday as the time gets closer. Help them to know and understand what is coming. Believe me, they will know and understand.
Seek a blessing from your priest to give you strength, not only during this process, but afterwards when the sorrow and real pain sets in.
Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends the animals, your creatures. We pray especially for all that are suffering in any way: for the overworked, underfed, the hunted, lost, or hungry; for all in captivity or ill-treated, and for those that must be set free from their earthly life. For those who care for them, we ask a gentle heart of compassion, gentle hands, and kindly words. Make us all true friends to animals and worthy followers of our merciful Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
