The Diocesan Services Fund (DSF)

Overview
The Diocesan Services Fund (DSF) is the annual appeal that supports the multiple ministries of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Supporting this appeal is a meaningful way of fulfilling our stewardship responsibility and expressing our gratitude to God for his many blessings.

The Second Vatican Council recognized that the laity not only has the right but the responsibility to actively share the mission of the Church. The DSF presents a worthy opportunity for you to share in building and sustaining a community of faith within our Archdiocese.

The easiest and quickest way to donate is to return your pre-printed pledge card in the envelope provided. Please make any changes (name, address, parish) on the face of the pledge card.

If you have either lost or never received a pledge card you have several options:

* You may donate on-line. You will need your constituent ID which may be obtained by emailing dsf@archgh.org and including your full name, spouse name, address and parish that you want to be credited with your donation. A constituent ID will be emailed to you.
* You may use a pew envelope from your parish.
* You may call our office (713.652.4422, Development Records) and ask us to create a pledge for you over the phone.
* You may e-mail us (dsf@archgh.org) the amount you want to pledge and let us know how you want to pay your pledge.
* You may send a check (made out to Diocesan Services Fund) to our lock box:

Giving Stocks and other Securities
The Archdiocese has a brokerage account to accept wire transfers of securities. To make a wire transfer requires the use of the Letter of Intent form that provides all of the information needed for the transfer. This assures that your gift will be properly identified, transferred and applied to your intended purpose.

DSF 2010 Campaign
      Follow Me...
St. Luke's 2010 DSF Goal is $114,000

Thank you for answering the call to express God’s love and compassion through your commitment to this year’s Diocesan Services Fund. Catholics throughout our archdiocesan church are uniting in faith, sharing their blessings and giving gifts in Jesus’ name. Remember that no gift is too small. If you have not yet responded, we urge you to consider offering your commitment at this time. Each gift helps. With every parishioner’s meaningful participation, we will succeed in reaching our goal of $114,000.00 and provide hope and help for those among us who are most in need.

Our parish is required to meet our above goal, whether paid by us individually or paid from our general parish funds at the end of the year.

Question:
Is our DSF contribution included in the 10% financial tithe to our parish?
We have traditionally used the following formula as a recommendation to parishioners. 5% of our total gross income should be tithed to the parish, 3% to DSF and 2% toward our second collections.
