The Catholic Community of
St. Luke the Evangelist
Vision and Mission Statement

We, as the Catholic Community of St. Luke the Evangelist,
invite all to come together to worship and serve the Lord in a spirit of love, sharing, and hope.
In response to God’s call to fulfill the needs of others, our
vision is to effectively use our gifts to proclaim the Good News.
We recognize that we are a diverse, yet unified community whose foundation of
faith rests upon Jesus Christ.

In response to this vision, our mission is:
  • To celebrate together our belief in Jesus Christ our Lord, and as a community fulfill his mission of love.
  • To emphasize the celebration of the sacraments by the entire community, and to enlighten and serve each other by sponsoring a plentiful variety of fellowship and prayer.
  • To recognize our needs as a parish and as individuals, giving back to God and sharing with others our time, skills and resources, while supporting the mission and goals of the Diocese of Galveston-Houston and the Universal Roman Catholic Church.
In the gentle healing spirit of St. Luke the Evangelist, we welcome all to experience the blessing we have been given, to share in God’s love, and to celebrate life with fellowship of our brothers and sisters.

Revised and readopted by Pastoral Council June 17, 1993.
